2012 Bristol, CT Shamrock Run

The family went running again this weekend and we met Erin, Jason, Dan, Kevin, Doug, Joe and the Fleet Feet 5 mile Running group in the 'mountainous' region of Bristol, CT. It was a large event with over a 1000 runners and great food and prizes. Nathaniel and Kevin ran in the Kid's Fun Run event and they had a blast.

Here are some pics from the event and there are more online here. Hope to see you at the next race!

I know I came in last this event... In my defense there were some great runners running with me and I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth out. I still had a lot of fun and am hoping to do this run again next year.

Max O'Hartford 5k

The family met Erin, Jason, Dan and the Fleet Feet 5k Running group in downtown Hartford today to run the Max O'Hartford 5k. It was a giant event with close to 3000 people showing up to run. They had free beer and free corn beef sandwiches for all the participants as well as commemorative shirts and glasses. I always love the atmosphere at a running event because everyone is so happy, positive and polite. Nathaniel ran in the Wee Mile event and he loved participating and getting his number pinned on. There were three Wee Mile events depending on the age of the child and Nate ran in the 100 yard dash. Pucky the whale showed up just before the Wee Mile event began to see the kids off. Nate was crazy fast and was one of the first kids to finish. It was a great day to be Hartford and we all had a lot of fun. I hope to see you all at the next race!

After the race we headed back home and when we stopped for gas we saw some horses at the gas station. They crossed the street and headed up past subway towards the schools. Here are the race results and some pictures. (I think Jason and Erin may have more pictures as well)

The boys

We had a few errands to run today so we ended up everywhere. (Lowe's Home Depot, The Olive Garden, Harry's, The Farmhouse, The Dump, Buckland Hill's Mall and even Sam's club but it was closed by the time we got there)  The weather was great!

When we were at the dump Ryan spotted a sign that said Children must remain in the car at all times. (Per order of the first selectmen!) Ryan said he didn't think the sign was fair and he should be able to get out and I found the sign vague. Technically my brother, sister and I are children of my mom so are we allowed to leave the car? :) I snapped a few pictures of the boys below:

Harry's is open!

Nate and I grabbed some lunch and ice cream.

A couple days ago we went to Ichiban. Loved their crab rangoons and the service was excellent. I wasn't a fan of their tea but meh.
