Birthday boy

From his Birthday! Meme sent us some pictures so I posted this. If you look behind this you will see the walls are still white.

Want S'more?

Dad was painting. :( Now I want to make a S'mores fire and have a cookout. Nom, Nom, Yum! The family decided to let dad paint in peace and headed over to the farmhouse for a cookout. It was a good idea considering open paint cans, paint fumes, exposed wires etc etc.

They said they had a blast! (Although nate did get a little crazy on the marshmellow sugar high)

Elmo 1, 2, 3

Nate loves this book. Elmo, cookie monster, counting etc etc. You should hear him count school buses in the morning. One School bus, ah, ah ah.... TWO school bus, ah ah ah... THREE school bus Ah Ah AH!

That is his special chair behind him. He brings it all over the house but he doesn't really sit in it... he just likes it nearby I guess. ;)

Nom nom, num yum

Just beneath this cute picture is one giant mess. He is a cutie though!

Family room

Our place in the morning. Next we need blinds and curtains. I am thinking of going with a DARK blind, something like this:

Finish off with some red curtains... something this color. Then we will need to address lighting since the only lighting we have is a stick lamp in that room. I am still looking at different lighting options.

Computer desks with new walls

If you look just past those ridiculously awesome monitors. (VX2626wm and my old Viewsonic )

You will see the painted walls hehe. I keep wanting to hang something over the desk... art work... giant mirror maybe to open the room up... I dunno. I'm open to suggestion. ;)

Freshly painted family room!

Our family room, newly painted, at night. Here's some painting tips for houses you live in that I learned during this project:

  • Don't use a power sprayer in doors unless every square inch is covered that you don't want painted AND you can completely seal the room.
  • When using a sprayer wear a mask and safety glasses.
  • If your taping your edges press the tape firmly close to the line of paint you will be painting. (Don't let paint sneak underneath.)
  • If there is a space between the item your painting and what your trying to protect with paint... (Like that little gap between the trim and the wall) Don't sneak your tape in there... hehe.
  • You may need to score your tape in some spots to remove it.

Brothers

This was taken during the town Spring Clean up. The little guy helped out with raking and getting weeds. He also ran everywhere. He had a great nap that day. Ryan was helping the community and met some other scouts there also lending a hand. He was able to keep the shirt all the volunteers received

His favorite blanket now. (That just means he wants this one first... he has like 5 other favorite blankets he hates to sleep without too)
