Visit to Maine

We just got back from a most joyous visit to Maine. We were entertained by my mother, brother, sister and my beutiful nieces. We did make a vain attempt at some restorations to the back storage room of my parents home but I fear my skills as a carpenter are not matched by my ambitious love of life. Hehe.

My mom is doing great along with my brother. My sister had a sore throat but other than that is doing great as well. I love seeing my nieces and they are both doing well also. They plan to come down in august for a trip to mystic.

Nathaniel Turns 1

After dinner tonight we had a little Birthday party for Nathaniel. He was going to open his presents after cake but I guess we didn't really think that one out... ;) He is currently upstairs taking a bath.

Nathaniel quickly figured out that cake is gooooooood eating. Getting all that cake into the mouth though, thats the hard part. Ice cream was deeeeeeeeeeeeeee-liiiiiicccccccccccccccccccccccc-oooooooouuuuuuuuuuussssss!

The Fam! Nate has a beard already.

Ryan enjoyed his task of lighting the Birthday Candles for his brother's First Birthday.

A Little earlier in the whole cake eating process. Who needs spoons anyways... Hands are much more efficient.

Aboard the USS Springfield

Ryan and I headed down to Groton with the scouts for a tour of the USS Springfield (SSN-761), a Los Angeles-class submarine, is the fourth ship of the United States Navy to bear that name. The earlier Springfields were named for differing reasons; SSN-761 was specifically named for Springfield, Illinois and Springfield, Massachusetts. This was a nuclear sub. (Powered, it didn't have nukes)

I have a sticker just like this picture.

Ryan at the Blue and Gold

Ryan aids in adding a new ribbon to the pack flag

Ryan earned his Bobcat. As part of the ceremony he is marked with the colors of blue and gold. Next he is working on his Bear.

Three boys were honored and received their Bobcat.

Me and my youngest Nathaniel.

New Tables, Chairs and Nate

We have received a few new tables recently. This is our new Kitchen table from Dan and Jude. We also got a new table and some chairs from Debbie. Robyn reupholstered the chairs. (Example below)

Robyn reupholstered the chairs. They look great!

A cute picture of Nate in the car. He is looking at me. Can you find me?

Ryan's 9th Birthday

Ryan turns 9! I have a ton more pictures to add when I have time but what a day! Lot's of friends showed up and Erin was amazing with the children. She orchastrated all kinds of birthday fun from games like 1-2-3 red light, to sharks and minnows and simon says. The kids had a blast smashing the Pinata! (Good job Dylan on breaking it open!) They also had cake and ice cream and everyone got goodie bags. (Complete with toys and candy but lets not forget tooth brushes)

Thanks to everyone who came and I hope you all had fun. There was a smaller family party afterwards and Ryan even got a new bow for archery. More to come. . .
